SMS

With the increasing penetration of mobile phones SMS is becoming a more popular method of communication, and can reach a large proportion of the population. Plenari SMS can:

  • Be used to broadcast invitations to complete your survey. Invitations could include a link to an online survey or a number for the respondent to call to complete a survey on the phone via IVR.
  • Deploy short surveys of a limited number of questions which can be completed by respondents via SMS.

IVR

  • IVR (Interactive Voice Response) is an automated telephone survey technology that is used to interact with clients or customers in the form of a questionnaire that collects responses through phone keypad or voice commands.
  • The client can record the questions and answers with their chosen voice and tone.
  • Respondents can be directed to an IVR survey in one of two ways:
    • via an invitation (e.g., sent via SMS or printed) providing the phone number to call; or,
    • by redirecting customers from a call centre once their query has been resolved.
  • Plenari IVR is particularly useful for time stressed target audiences.
  • Plenari IVR is quick and easy to set up, and allows the respondent to complete a survey in their own space at their own pace.

Mobile

In the current day and age most people carry at least one mobile phone. As smart phones become more common and data plans more affordable, people are less reliant on traditional PC's for online interaction. The Plenari Suite embraces this trend by enabling online surveys to be deployed so that they are compatible with the smaller screen size and touch screen interactivity of smart phones.

This online qualitative tool is designed for conductin live, interactive focus groups. The Plenari Real Time Conversations Lounge (RTCL) platform is intuitive and easy to use by both the moderator and the participants.

RTCLs are synchronous, that is the group moderator and invited group participants interact in a live discussion at a given time from the comfort of their own keyboard. Some of the key features of the RTCL platform are:

  • Entry to a dedicated focus group 'rooms' is by secuire encrypted invitation only
  • Key designated areas - discussion area and a whiteboard area (used to share images, web pages, surveys, concepts, video and/or audio streaming)
  • Instant transcripts
  • Supports multiple languages
  • Moderator controls for easy management of:
    • Discussion guide & image management (including probe management)
    • Participants (invitations & in-room management controls)
    • Open or private chat options
    • Customised - Client/research agency branding

The Plenari RTCL also facilitates silent observation by clients/interested parties.

Plenari RTCL is particularly useful for projects requiring a faster turnaround, particularly those requiring top-of-mind responses (e.g., product/packaging design, development of communications, concept evaluation).Plenari RTCL is currently in beta testing with selected clients.

Over Time Conversations Lounge (Qualitative)

This online qualitative tool allows online focus groups (or in-depth one-on-one interviews) to be conducted asynchronously in a multi-day format. The Plenari Over Time Conversations Lounge (OTCL) platform has been designed specifically for market research purposes, and is intuitive and easy to use.

OTCL's maintain an engagement and discussion dialogue with participants asynchronously, that is over a period of time – typically 3 days – but can be longer (weeks, months) as the project needs dictate. Participants login frequently at times convenient to them to participate and interact with moderator and other participants. The discussion dialogue is focused around topic areas, set up by the moderator and date & time released as needed. For example, in a 3 day OTCL, the moderator may choose to release new topic areas each day, or set-up all topics upfront.

Some of the key features of the OTCL platform are:

  • Secure, encrypted, invitation only entry to a dedicated OTCL discussion 'forum'
  • Up to 20 participants per forum
  • Key designated areas:
    • Discussion area, unique for each separate topic
    • A list of topics to lead participants through the discussion
    • Text box for interaction – responses to topic areas as well as comments on other participant posts
    • Whiteboard area (for images, web pages, surveys, concepts, video and/or audio streaming)
    • Moderator Control Panel (access only for moderators)
  • The Moderator control panel provides easy management and control of the discussion:
    • Discussion guide/topics & image management (date & time-release)
    • Participants (invitations & in-room management controls)
    • Open or private chat options
    • Customised - Client/research agency branding
    • Forum set-up. This includes the ability to 'force' sequencing of questions; or set specific topic areas in spontaneous or uninfluenced mode (participants must respond to the topic before viewing other responses)
  • Instant transcripts
  • Supports multiple languages
  • Silent viewing by observers

Some unique benefits of OCTL include:

  • High engagement means that there is a high yield of deep, rich, well-articulated thoughtful responses
    • Participants have time to think about and craft responses
    • Between login sessions, participants are often thinking (consciously or not) about the topic
  • Participation is at a time convenient to participants
  • No/low group domination or peer pressure – all have equal 'voice' and airtime

Plenari Online Qualitative Tools are currently in beta testing with selected clients.

Over Time Conversations Lounge In-Depth Interviews - OTCL (Qualitative)

The Plenari OTCL platform also allows for simultaneous multiple in-depth interviews (up to 20 interviews per platform). From a research perspective, this is a highly time and cost-effective qualitative methodology and is particularly suited to those projects where confidentiality or commercial sensitivity is paramount. Additionally, it is a methodology that often suits time-poor participants. The in-depth interview guide is set up in separate topic areas as for the OTCL focus group, but participants can only see their own responses and that of the moderator. The moderator on the other hand can see all responses by all participants each topic area, but can interact with them individually and privately.
